So against heavy aggro decks like Sanctuary Guard and Raging Form, the mid-game would kind of be the part of the game where if they don't win, they might be running out of steam at that point and so they would eventually run out of things to throw at you. This is also the point where against heavy combo oriented decks, they would go off if they didn't already do,
For this section, the deck is very lax as far as options go. There's also the part where you place reads on your opponent's hand and game plan and that would change the way you play as well. I would say this deck does a lot of reactive plays than proactive.
So let's talk about your options.. You have two main options in the mid game and what enables these 2 plays was set up on your first stride, So I already covered what Vortex Desire's skill does in his card discussion page but as a recap he enables 2 main things in the deck, an extra retire with Taiten and the Legend's Generation Break 2 which is surprisingly also your 2 main mid game options. I mean of course there's a lot of other situational things you can do like when you're CB locked you can go into Route Flare or Crossorigin or if you're not in a good spot to win in the long game, you can try to finish them off quicker with the Ace or something. But back to Legend vs. Taiten, let's try to break it down to pros and cons.
Legend Pros
Legend Pros
- Better Rear-Guard pressure if you have Nehalem or Spherical Lord Columns
- If you're at a higher damage, better chance to heal cause of 6 drive checks
- Better spread on Crit Pressure if you checked any
- Can filter a clogged hand for either a Stride enabler for next turn or more shield
- Can also filter out 3's and Legion parts into the drop
Legend Cons
- Can be Dizmel'd / Pre G Era Sentinel'd
- Crit pressure is left to chance even though it's 6 Drive Checks
- Just one "retire" and restricted to front row
Taiten Pros
- Guaranteed Crit when Blazing
- Has more retires and not limited to front row
- Can help enable Inspire Yell/Reas better if they swarmed
- Has access to Jannat / Nadel (Makes you be able to chain Taitens without losing CB)
Taiten Cons
- Less power on Nehalem Columns
- Way less chance to get rear-guard crit pressure
- Just 3 Drive Check
So seeing as you know what both of them are good for, Some general rules are, If they're weak to their field getting retired (Royals/Aqua Force) then go into Taiten. If they're weak against high powered columns, go into the Legend. If they have a PG and a mediocre field, then Taiten is probably the wrong choice. If they only have one important Rear-Guard and it's in the front row, then the Legend is probably the best bet.
That's about it for the mid game and of course you can keep applying what you learned beforehand into other parts of the game. And remember, these two aren't your only plays but it is what you will find yourself using most of the time.
